Videogames workshop


 With this workshop, participants will learn how to play video games following a logical form of block programming. We will start with a traditional spaceship video game, although we can include any theme.



Goals to achive:

- To know to make a videogame.
- To program a videogame.
- To play and enjoy with your own videogame.

Methodology:

In this workshop we will use the online program "Scratch"



You must log in and click on create a project.



The work area will appear where we can work with objects or scenarios.



We select the object, edit it or change it.

1.-We click on disguise and change the cat for a ship from the transport folder. It will be object

2.- We click on object 1 and duplicate it twice.



We already have object 2 and 3.
We click on object 3 and import another costume importing from the transport folder.

It can be a helicopter.



We already have two ships and a helicopter.

4.-Now we click on object 2, and we click on costumes and draw some lines as in the figure.


5.- We must erase the old costume (ship) and leave the current one.



6.- We click on stage and paint it blue with black dots.

We already have a ship, gunshots, a helicopter and the stage. We started programming the ship. We click on object 1 and and we click on programs.

We include this ship control program.

7.- With the control and movement folders we draw the sequence on the right.



8.- We program the shots. To do this, we click on object 2 and design the following program.



We have used control, sound, movement and sensors.



10.- We program the movement of the helicopter. We click on object 3 and draw the movement sequence.



Now we can duplicate the object or change it for other objects such as ships, viruses, bugs ...

It should be noted that the screen has coordinates of -200, 200 in X and Y.



13.- We start the program by clicking on the green flag and enlarging the screen.

We can also put a market with point by activating the score variable or change the scenarios.

When reaching a certain score puntuation change.
