LEONARDO DA VINCI STRUCTURES
Structure is a set of different items with the objective to suport loads
The structures keep the shape unde the force of gravity, the wind or any other force.
A example of structure is a human skeleton, bycycles...
Types of forces

These loads can stretch, shorten, or bend. Then we say that these items works traction (tight), compresion (pilar) or flexion (beam).
A way to khown this in a structure is making an imáginary cut .
There two more forces: shear and torsion.
- Shear is force that try to cut the objets.
- Torsion is a force that try to turn the element.
Types of structures:
- Frame structures. It is the most commoon of structure. It have a lot of elements joind to each other. It is empty. Example is a bycicle or a house
- Shell structures. This structure have a thin outes layer of material. And example is a egg or a
- Arch. The geometry of arch displaces the formces to the sides, so that there is a large free space under it. Example is a bride.
- Mix and match. In this case we combine different types of structure. Exemples of this are Moderm house or building.
- Mass structures. It have a lot of materials. Examples is a Dams (presas) or sandcastles.
- Suspension structures. It have element like beam, like cables, columns...Examples are Bridges.
Types of unions.
- Permanent unions: welding, rivets, (remaches) or glue
- Non-permanent unions: nuts and bolts or clamps (abrazadera)
in our classroom we are going to work with Leonardo Structures. Now you can see it.
